Eric Smith: The It Factor - Blue Jackets Hire John Davidson “The It Factor” is something that people talk about but is very hard to explain but you also know it when you see it. John Davidson has that “It Factor” that the Blue Jackets organization has been missing since it's beginning.

According to reports from Strickland and CBJ (Dispatch) writer Portzline JD will not bring a "broom" and will evaluate similarly to how he handled St. L after arriving.

I dont believe JD is the awnser to all are problems, it's not like if he became the teams new gm anayways ,speaking about that he hinted out alot of times how he admires Craig Patrick and spoke little of Howson at the press conference....just putting that out there.

Again is it JD that drafted Backes, Oshie,Berglund , Perron or Pietriangelo ....no

And if Payne stayed at his post all season would we even be saying things turned around in St-Louis...guess not , it was a leap of faith in Hitch I find.

All I am saying is , as much as JD brings some hockey savy to the table he could only change the guy that is driving the team , meanning the gm (also I dont know alot of team presidents that decide personel moves to the team other then said gm).

I understand your pessimism but I believe there should be much optimism. From all accounts JD is hands-on and surrounds himself with capable people. While he wasn't the lead scout or GM, JD was in St. L when Perron and Pietrangelo were drafted as well as Rundblad, Cole, Schwartz and Tarasenko. He steered the Blues from 30th in the league to 109 pts last season (6-7 years). His Blues made two post-season appearances (2009, 2012), won the 2011-12 Central Division championship, and their average attendance increased from 12,520 (30th) in 2006-07 to 18,809 (9th) in 2011-12.

You're a fan so chin-up man! Things got better and if you need convincing just look at Leaf fans who get jacked-up for each new season, even without a JD arriving in town.

While the Jackets are a pretty easy target, a little 'google' in your life might prove beneficial...from The Hockey News: http://www.thehockeynews....s-to-contract-buyout.html
...the Blues have been forced to reduce costs after reportedly losing $20 million a season ago. Stillman, who led a group in purchasing the team from Checketts this past summer, had to make concessions.

"There's no animosity at all," Davidson said. "When you see new ownership purchasing pro sports clubs, there's always going to be change. Tom and I have had a number of discussions. It took a while, but we found some common ground with our discussions ... we chatted about expenses and contracts and we just came to a conclusion that my contract would be a burden on the club."

I was trying to talk some poop and you guys don't have an updated blog since October. LOL your organization is literally a joke, and that is coming from a Preds fan. You guys got burned on the Nash deal.
